Infant Room
Our infant room is developmentally appropriate, which is warm and home-like, to help children feel comfortable and secure. Our teachers meet each child's individual schedule in a loving and consistent manner. We encourage infants to use their senses and their rapidly growing physical and cognitive skills to explore the environment. Weather permitting, each day, infants and their caregiver go outdoors for fresh air and a change of scenery.

Setting the Stage for Creativity
A positive relationship between the babies and you, the caregiver, is the key to encouraging the babies' creativity.
When babies feel cared for and secure, they can turn their attention to exploring their world.
Creativity is encouraged by you, their caregiver, who talks with the babies, responds to their attempts to communicate, lets them learn by discovering things independently and provides a consistent sense of security.
Interacting in ways that promote creative thinking
Babies learn to communicate their needs long before they can talk. Responding to a baby's movements, cries, gestures and babbling is extremely important in setting the stage for creative thinking. When you, the caregiver, respond to the babies, you send the message that the child is valued as an individual. When infants see adults respond to them and meet their needs, they develop a sense of trust and security. This encourages them to try new things. Caregivers will:
- LEARN TO INTERPRET BABBLING AND ATTEMPTS TO COMMUNICATE
- LEARN TO RECOGNIZE NON-VERBAL CUES
- LEARN TO WATCH AND WAIT
Along with responding to their needs, talking with the babies throughout the day encourages their creativity. Infants take pleasure in their growing communication skills. They feel good about being able to communicate with a trusted person; that trusted person is YOU.
Experiencing this pleasure regularly, they feel secure and thus free to explore and to learn from all their daily routines—feeding, diapering, napping and playing.
